March 3, 2021 · ESA/Hubble · J025157.5+600606
This montage illustrates how the Aladin Lite Interactive app can be used to view astronomical objects by comparing multi-wavelength datasets.
The object depicted is an example of a special class of star-forming nursery known as Free-floating Evaporating Gaseous Globules, or frEGGs for short. This object is formally known as J025157.5+600606. Learn more about the object featured in this image here .
More notably, the infrared image (bottom right) allows the viewers to see through the dust and gas. Meanwhile, the optical filters (top images) display the colourful features of this star-forming nursery. The image on the bottom-left is a cross-fade between the optical and infrared images.
