This image shows a number of distant galaxies behind the galaxy cluster Abell 1689. Astronomers have used the sharp eye of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and the magnification power of the giant cluster to find 58 remote galaxies, which produced the bulk of new stars during the Universe's early years. They are the smallest, faintest, and most numerous galaxies ever seen in the remote Universe.
